Left Nothing But His Bones: Missing Polish Farmer Eaten By His Own Pigs
The Polish authorities are investigating a bizarre case, where a farmer was eaten by his own pigs, who left nothing but his bones behind.
The investigators fear that the pig farmer, who was seen last on December 31, 2019, may have been devoured by his own livestock.
The neighbor of the farmer discovered some bones on the property.
Lubin District Prosecutor Magdalena Serafin told Gazeta Wroclawska, a local publication, that remains of the farmer were found 8 days after the man was seen.
Authorities believe the bones are the bones of the farmer, who was last seen on his farm in Lubin, a small town located 260 miles away from Warsaw.
Prosecutor Serafin said, “We do not know the exact date, but in the period between December 31 and January 8 the victim was eaten by pigs.”
The neighbor of the farmer, whose identity was not shared with the public, called the local police after discovering the remains of the man.
The neighbor found the bones when they were going to fetch water from a well near the farm.
It was not immediately clear how the man died.
Officials believe the man died from either a fall or a heart attack.
The pigs that ate the farmer were known to roam freely through the yard.
According to Gazeta Wrocławska, a local publication, the body was almost entirely eaten.
Authorities found a bunch of bones and skull fragments remains on the farm.
