Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, Uttar Pradesh: 2 men were mauled to death by a tiger, announced the police on Friday.

The incident happened in Richhaula Chowki of the Gajraula area in the district on Thursday night when Ninder Singh (50) and his servant Dorilal (28).

The 2 men were reportedly sleeping on their agricultural land when the incident happened.

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve Deputy Director Naveen Khandelwal confirmed that the incident happened.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the tiger dragged the 2 men for over 500 meters before killing them.

The forest department came to know about the incident after the brother of Ninder Singh informed them.

The forest department, district administration, and teams of the police were tasked to catch the tiger.

On Friday, the tiger was tranquilized.

The forest department said the tiger will be sent to the Lucknow Zoo.
