Turkmenistan President Establishes New National Holiday To Celebrate Love For Central Asian Shepherd Dog

The president of Turkmenistan has established a new national holiday in order to celebrate their love for Alabai, a central Asian shepherd Dog.

Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, the current president of Turkmenistan, is known all over the world for his love for dogs.

To honor the Alabai breed, they came up with a plan to show their love.

The dog is locally found everywhere in the country.

The president of the country said that the holiday will be celebrated on the last Sunday of April on a yerly basis.

During an interview with AP (Associated Press), Serdar, the son of the sitting president, said that a beauty contest along with other competitions are going to be carried out in the country during the holiday.

Serdar is also the head of the International Alabai Association.

The Alabai is one of the most common dog that is found in Russia and other Central Asian countries.

They are one of the most popular breeds and the President of Turkmenistan once gave one to President Vladimir Putin.

This is not the first time the president of Turkmenistan has done something really huge for the dogs.

Last year, he inaugurated a massive 15 meter long statue in Ashgabat, the capital of the country.
