The open session at SRCC will be of two-hour duration, however, timings for the same are yet to be confirmed. Sundar Pichai will deliver the keynote address at the ‘Google for India’ event, where he will outline the company’s plans for India. The company’s invite reads:

Expected to Launch 2nd Version of ‘Android One’ phones in India

Google CEO is expected to launch the second version of Google’s Android One phones in India. In 2014, Pichai was in India for the global launch of Google’s most ambitious project to make pure Android available on affordable phones with the initiative of Android One smartphones. The latest reports say that the company is expected to launch the second phase of Android One phones in India. It is planning to make the new phase smartphones which are even more affordable in price.

Sundar Visit to India

During the global launch event last year, Sundar Pichai was in charge of Android. The company planned to allure its customers with Android One as the most affordable smartphone. But, Android One was not as successful as Google would have expected it to be. Another recent report had hinted that the restrictions on Android One makers have been loosened in terms of components to enable them to distinguish their handsets in the market.

During his visit to Sundar Pichai is also expected to meet President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 43-year-old alumnus of IIT-Kharagpur had met Modi in the month of September during the Prime Minister’s visit to the Silicon Valley. Pichai had also announced that Google will allow users to type in 11 Indian languages, including Narendra Modi’s mother tongue Gujarati on the Android platform.

Google had announced that it will collaborate with the Indian Railways to provide wi-fi services at 500 stations by next year. The current news is that the CEO of Google will be visiting India on December 16 and host an event in New Delhi on December 17 for an interactive session with the students at Delhi University’s SRCC.
