Man Arrested After Agreeing To Pay Prostitute With Hamburger During Police Sting Operation
A man from New Mexico, USA, was arrested by the police during a sting operation after he agreed to pay a prostitute, who was a police officer working undercover, with a hamburger.
The police arrested Dominic Calderon on Tuesday last week after he approached the woman on a bicycle, who he believed was a sex worker.
When the negotiation stated, the man said that he didn’t have enough money that the undercover police officer was demanding. This led the man to ask for her number.
The undercover police officer later spotted Calderon, who is 36-year-old, carrying a bag from a fast-food restaurant.
The undercover police officer asked Calderon what was in his takeaway bag. He told her it was a burger.
The officer said the burger would compensate her services. Upon agreeing to the offer, Calderon was arrested on the spot.
The female officer was posing as a prostitute in a street operation when she saw Calderon riding a bicycle.
The Albuquerque Police Department ran checks on the man and found out that he was already a sex offender that was roaming free on probation.
His status was confirmed by the probation office.
The probation of Calderon was revoked and was upgraded to a felony warrant.
The police seized the hamburger as evidence.
Calderon was placed in the Bernalillo County Jail.
His trial has been set on February 28, 2020, in the Metropolitan Court.
36-year-old Calderon was booked on patronizing a prostitute.
