Man from Punjab arrested for sharing military information with Pakistan’s ISI through WhatsApp
Punjab: The Faridkot Police arrested a man for sharing military information with Pakistan’s ISI, an intelligence agency.
The police also seized incriminating documents from his possession when he was arrested.
The man has been identified as Sukhwinder Singh Sidhu from Moga District, was arrested in Faridkot.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man got in touch with the ISI agents from Pakistan when Sukhwinder Singh Sidhu went to visit Pakistan in 2015 for Guru Nanak’s Birth Anniversary.
Police Officer Yadwinder Singh said, “Sukhwinder had gone on pilgrimage to Pakistan in November 2015 to mark Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary. He got in touch with three Pakistani nationals, after which he began sending secret military information to them through WhatsApp.”
Sukhwinder Singh Sidhu was arrested by the Faridkot Police’s intelligence department near an army base in the city.
