While hearing the petition challenging Union HRD minister Smriti Irani’s educational qualification, Delhi’s Patiala House Court said the plea was maintainable. The honorable bench of the Delhi’s Patiala House Court has fixed 28 August for recording pre-summoning evidence in the complaint filed against Irani. Amer Khan, a freelance writer filed a complaint who is represented by the KK Mana stated that Irani in her affidavit for April 2004 Lok Sabha polls said that she completed her BA in 1996 from Delhi University (school of correspondence). While to the contrary she mentioned in the affidavit that she completed her highest educational qualification B.Com part I from the School of Correspondence, DU while contesting the Rajya Sabha election.
