The President of the United States, Donald Trump, congratulated PM Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party for their “BIG election victory!”, the president added that he is currently looking forward for the return of PM Modi as there are “Great things are in store for the US-India partnership”.

President Trump tweeted his congratulations, he said, “Congratulations to Prime Minister @NarendraModi and his BJP party on their BIG election victory!”

POTUS Trump added, “Great things are in store for the US-India partnership with the return of PM Modi at the helm. I look forward to continuing our important work together!” he said, as congratulatory messages from various parts of the US poured in.

Eliot L Engel, a congressman and the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs also congratulated India, Narendra Modi and his party for their big win.

Congressman Eliot said, “Voting is one of the most important rights – and responsibilities – of those living in a democracy, and I congratulate the 600 million Indians who exercised this right.”

The Congressman added, “The Indian people have spoken, and the United States Congress looks forward to continue working with India, and the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government to advance our shared goals on a host of issues, including human rights, defence, trade and economic growth, and climate change.”

The Lok Sabha 2019 General Elections were held in India from April 11 to May 19 and had 7 phases.
