Alexei Navalny: Russian Opposition Party Leader And Vladimir Putin Critic Poisoned, Currently Unconscious And In ICU

Alexei Navalny, a Russian opposition party leader and a vocal critic of Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, has been poisoned and is currently in a critical condition.

The news was released by the spokeswoman of Alexei.

Navalny reportedly fell ill on a flight back to Moscow and his condition reportedly got worse at a hospital.

The man is currently unconscious and is in intensive care.

Kira Yarmysh, the press secretary of Alexei Navalny, said Navalny fell ill on a flight back to Moscow.

She then said that they believe Alexei was poisoned with something that was mixed into the tea that he drank that morning.

Kira added that tea was the only thing that he had consumed that day.

Doctors that are treating Alexei said that the toxin was absorbed faster through the hot liquid that he drank that day.

This is not the first time something like this has happened to Alexei.

In July last year, Alexei got sick when he was at a detention facility, where he was serving time for calling an unsanctioned protest.

The staff of the hospital said that Alexei got sick due to an allergic reaction, however, his personal doctor said that it was different.

Dr. Anastasiya Vasilyeva, the physician of Alexei, said that the politician was poisoned during his stay at the facility.

He is currently in a stable but serious condition.

Alexei, a known critic of President Vladimir Putin, is unconscious.

Further updates will be shared by doctors and the spokeswoman of Alexei.
