Gas Explosion Leaves 4 Dead Including Woman And Child In Russia
Yaroslavl, Russia: Authorities have recovered 4 dead bodies from a residential building after a gas explosion.
A child’s body and the body of a woman were recovered by rescuers from under the rubble.
The incident happened on the evening of Friday in Yaroslavl, Russia.
Authorities said that the incident happened after a gas leak, which led to an explosion.
As of writing this article, the death toll is at 4, more people are believed to be trapped under the rubble of the building.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that they had been looking for a mother and child in the house, but more bodies were later recovered.
The explosion happened in an apartment of a ten-story building No. 5 on the Batov Street.
33 people, which include 8 kids, have been evacuated from the severely damaged building.
The regional government released a statement about the incident, where they said:
The house was built in 1992. It has 120 apartments with 342 people, including 64 children. The fire has been put out. Three people are in condition of moderate gravity.
The impact of the blast caused floors to collapse, from the 3rd floor to the 5th floor.
