India’s Women Cricket Team middle-order batswoman Harmanpreet Kaur grabbed everyone’s attention towards her after hitting an unbeaten 171-run knock off 115 balls which included 20 fours and 7 sixes in ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 semifinal against six-time champions Australia on Thursday at Derby, England.

Earlier, the match was delayed due to rain and when it got started, the match referees decided to minimize the overs to 42. Winning the toss, Indian skipper Mithali Raj elected to bat first. But Indian openers couldn’t give a stand against Australian bowlers.

Smriti Madhana and Poonam Raut had given their wickets back to back. That’s the time when Mithali and Harmanpreet got together to set the innings after two early wickets. In 25th over, Mithali was bowled for a loose delivery by Kristen Beams.

Deepthi Sharma joined Harmanpreet and went on slamming the Australian bowlers especially Harmanpreet is hitting the ball so hard. She reached her half-century in 64 balls and hit the top gear thereafter as she scored 47 runs off the next 25 balls to race to 98 off just 89 balls. However, she could have missed a deserved century.

Going for a double in the 35th over, Harmanpreet was involved in a huge mix-up with her partner Deepti Sharma, who was exposed at the non-striker’s end. Both the batswomen made their respective grounds, but Harmanpreet was livid and reacted rather strongly and harshly. This reaction from Harmanpreet made Deepti shed a few drops of tears.

Furious with Deepti’s conduct, Kaur slammed her helmet onto the ground before venting his emotion. But anger soon turned into happiness as Kaur reclaimed her composure and celebrated the moment. She just took 43 balls to score from 51 to 150.
