Saina Nehwal is one of India’s most successful sportspersons. From an Olympic medal to being the runner-up at the BWF World Championships, she has achieved a lot and brought pride and glory to the nation.

When Saina Nehwal bags medals and accolades for her wins for the country, she’s praised by the masses and called a true Indian. But, recently Saina Nehwal was termed as “ANTI-NATIONAL” by some section of people on social media. And, the reason behind people shaming her on Facebook will make you go through a facepalm moment.

It all started when Saina uploaded this picture on her Facebook profile captioned “My new Honor 8 phone …… love the phone and the color.”

On Sunday, Nehwal posted a picture on her Facebook page with the Honor 8 smartphone – obviously, nothing more than an obligation to her sponsor. And yet, people took this as an opportunity to slam her for shaming her country for endorsing a Chinese product.

Here are some of the hate comments made by people:

1.Someone asked her to kickoff Chinese goods

2. There was a Modi supporter, too

3. The anti-national comment

3. Ban Chinese products, says one

4. This guy called her money-minded and brought Pakistan’s flag into talks

5. So, this guy questioned her nationality with just one post.

Amid the haters, there were a few others who supported Saina and called out the hypocrisy.

3.And one just called her the diamond of India.

Caught in the crossfire was this Chinese guy had no clue about the backlash.

Are people willing to forget all her achievements and the joy that she has brought to the nation because of her endorsement?
