9-Year-Old Boy Gets Over 5,000 Adoption Applications After Saying ‘I Hope One Of Y’all Pick Me’ On National TV

Oklahoma, USA: America was left devastated when a 9-year-old boy was interviewed by a local news channel after he just wanted to have a family.

Jordan, the 9-year-old boy, has been in foster care since he was 3 years old.

During an interview with Fox59 News, he said that he is desperate to call someone mom or dad.

The entire 2 minutes and 21 seconds of the interview was just heartbreaking.

In one part of the interview, the reporter asked Jordan where he would like to travel, he just had a simple answer, which is “An adoption party for a home.”

When the reporter asked what his 3 wishes are if he meets a genie, he said:

To have a family, and family, family. Those are the only wishes I have.

Just heartbreaking.

Jordan was in foster care with his brother, however, Braison was adopted by a family last year.

They left the 9-year-old boy without his best friend.

He said that he wants to be a police officer when he grows up, because he loves the idea of protecting and servicing the community.

During an interview with Fox59, he said:

I would just like to have a family to call mom and dad, or just mom, or just dad. I don’t really care. The reason it’s important is because so I could have some people to talk to anytime I need to. I hope one of y’all pick me.

The story was broadcasted last month.

It has been viral ever since.

Jordan has gathered tons of fans and supporters, but he could also soon have a new home.

Christopher Marlowe, the permanency planning worker, said that there have been over 5,000 applications to adopt him in just the past couple of weeks.

Christopher said that they have received calls from New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, and Kentucky.

During an interview with Fox59, Marlowe said:

I’m in the process of reading through those profiles to select a family to try to move forward with. We’ve had a couple of families that expressed interest in adoption but after we did disclosures, the families decided that it wasn’t the right fit for them or their family at this time, so we’ve had some difficulty finding placement for him. I’m really excited about this and very hopeful this is going to be the breakthrough we needed to find this kid a home.

Marlowe has also been in contact with the brother of Jordan and his new family.

The family said they are open to the idea of getting the 2 boys together and so that they do not lose contact.
