17 people killed in Uttar Pradesh after Dust Storm and rain hits the state

17 people have been killed in Uttar Pradesh after heavy dust storms, rain, and lightning hit different areas of the state in the last 24 hours.

Authorities said that 4 people passed away in Siddharthanagar, 3 people passed away in Deoria, 3 people passed away in Basti, 2 passed away in Ballia, 1 passed away in Azamgarh, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Pilibhit, and Lakhimpur.

Rahim, a laborer, was killed in Siddharathanagar after a shed collapsed over him and 2 women, the women are currently recovering from the injuries.

Brijbhan Yadav was killed when lightning struck him in Basti District, he was struck by the lightning when he was working in his farms amidst the heavy rains.

Vishal from Debrua, Basti passed away after a tree fell over him and his 8-year-old nephew while they were returning home from a medical store. Golu, his nephew, is currently admitted in a hospital in Basti and is labeled as critical condition.

65-year-old Budhna from Dumariaganj, Siddharthanagar, passed away after a tree fell over her.

22-year-old Shubham, from Deoria, passed away when a pole fell over him.

55-year-old Israwati was killed in Deoria after lightning struck her.

An 8-year-old boy passed away in Deoria after a wall collapsed over him.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, gave his condolences to the family members of the deceased.

The CM has also directed the officials of the state to enhance their services and to help the affected families.
