2 People Killed And 2 Injured After Gunman Open Fired At The Allama Iqbal International Airport In Lahore

Officials confirmed that 2 passengers were killed after a gunman open fired at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

The Airport Security Forces have detained two suspects from the international airport.

Passengers present in the international airport were shocked and were gripped with panic after the horrific shooting.

Officials said that the gunman and other suspects arrived at the airport via taxi.

The shooting happened at the arrival lounge of the International Airport and the police have officially ruled out any terrorist act.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the killing was a result of personal enmity.

Ashfaq Ahman Khan, the Deputy Inspector General of Operations, said that Shan and Arshad, the two suspects of the shooting, open fired on a man that was in the parking area of the international airport.

DIG Khan said that their main target was Zain Ali, a 30-year-old resident of Lahore, who was returning from Saudi Arabia. Ali was coming from Saudi after performing Umrah, he passed away on the spot.

Reports suggest that Shan and Arshad already have criminal records and were having a dispute with Ali.

The second victim of the shooting was Akram, a taxi driver who was at the international airport. He was hit during the open firing of Arshad and Shan.

Akram was rushed to a hospital in Lahore but passed away due to the bullet injuries he sustained in the shooting.

Two passengers are currently admitted at a hospital in Lahore after sustaining bullet injuries.

SP Cantt Safdar Raza Kazmi said that the Lahore Police is currently investigating how Shan and Arshad managed to bring weapons inside the airport even after having a number of check posts in the international airport.
