49-year-old Geoff Smith, the father of 14-year-old Bobbiemay, decided to glue his hands to the gates of her daughter’s school after the school sent his daughter home for wearing an earring.

The 49-year-old father said that her additional ear piercing stops the migraines of his daughter.

After the father found out that Bobbiemay was sent home for her earring, the father decided to glue his hands to the gates of the school with Polyfilla, a plaster type glue.

The father also went live on Facebook and showed everyone what he was doing.

The school decided to call the police.

When the father went live on Facebook, Smith said, “I have superglued myself to the gate. My daughter has got a legal right to an education. The superglue is burning my hands at the minute… but I would put myself through any pain so my daughter can live life without pain.”

After a couple of minutes, a worker of the Cockburn John Charles Academy in Leeds, West Yorkshire, asked the 49-year-old father “What are you doing?”

Geoff allegedly told the worker to call the police and the fire department.

The police did not arrest Geoff Smith, instead, they let him inside the school and allowed him to have a meeting with the teachers of the school.

The father managed to get himself free off the gates of the school, but, a layer of his skin got stuck.

The father decided to protest in front of the school after the staff of the school sent her home for wearing an additional earing.

Geoff claims that her earring is not for fashion purposes but instead, it is intended to relieve her migraines.

The 49-year-old father added that this is why he bought the smallest stud he could find so Bobbiemay could avoid issues at her school.

During an interview, Geoff said, “It’s awful for a school to deprive a child of their education for something so minor. We tried everything to stop Bobbiemay’s migraines – she can be in agonising pain for a week at a time with them.”

He added, “But she hasn’t had one since getting the piercing five weeks ago. The piercing is working, it’s not coming out. Bobbiemay was doing really well at that school so that’s where I want her go goback to. She’s missed a lot of school now and it’s not fair. She’s an intelligent child and they have had no other issues with her until now.”

The school of Bobbiemay Smith released a statement about the incident.

The spokesman of the school said, “We would like to make it clear Bobbiemay Smith has not been excluded from the academy. She is welcome back at any time, as long as the earring is removed. Students and parents are aware of our clear uniform policy which is applied consistently.”

The statement added, “In this particular case, medical evidence or a doctor’s note has not been provided to suggest exceptional circumstances. At all times, our focus is on Bobbiemay’s welfare and best interests and we hope to see her return to the academy as soon as possible.”
