Gujarat: A 30-year-old woman was arrested in the state for strangling her one-month-old son to death and for throwing his dead body in a canal in the state.

The incident happened in the Kaira District of Gujarat.

Reports suggest that the Child’s dead body was found on May 23, 2019.

Investigations revealed that Asha Rathod, the 30-year-old woman, gave birth to the one-month-old infant at the Nadiad Civil Hospital.

DK Raol, a police officer at the Kathlal Police Station, said that Asha Rathod was married in 2009 and has 2 kids from that marriage.

Officer Raol added that she also has a pending case with her husband and has been staying in a different house since 2015.

Officer Raol said that the police went to the house of Asha and questioned her about the baby.

Asha said that the infant was undergoing treatment at a hospital in the area, but after some time, she confessed that she killed the baby.

Asha also confessed that the baby was born out of an extra-marital affair.

Officer Raol said that Asha committed the crime to hide her relationship with the man.

Asha Rathod has been arrested by the police and has been charged with Murder.
