A 35-year-old heart-broken Chinese fiancé married his partner’s corpse during her funeral to show his love for her. His fiancé lost her battle with breast cancer.

Xu Shinan, the heart-broken groom, wanted to fulfill the wish of his deceased fiancé.

Yang Liu, the partner of Xu, always wanted to be a bride, and during their wedding, she was dressed in a white bridal gown and was surrounded by 169 bouquets of pink roses.

The wedding happened on October 19, 2019, in a funeral parlor in Dalian, Eastern China.

The wedding was witnessed by the family members and the friends of the couple.

Xu said, “Wife, please don’t worry! For me, the rest of my life will be in pain, but I will not give up.”

Yang Liu died on October 14, 2019, when she was only 34-years-old.

She was battling with breast cancer for 5 years and 6 months.

According to reports, Xu stayed by the side of Yang all day after she died.

Talking about a wish of her wife, Xu said, “My wife used to say that nobody was allowed to cry should she die. I was holding back my tears on the day, but when [her body] was sent for cremation, I couldn’t fight it anymore.”

According to local news agencies in China, Xu and Yang were classmates in a university when they were both young.

They officially became lovers in 2007 and registered their marriage in 2013.

3 months after registering their marriage, Yang started to experience pain in her chest, and after tests were done, doctors diagnosed her with breast cancer.

She was 28-years-old when the doctors diagnosed her with cancer.

Yang went through surgery to remove her tumor, and also went through chemotherapy.

Xu said Yang was so strong that she never cried while battling cancer, and was often smiling.

In 2017, the condition of Yang started to improve, and the couple started to save money for a flat, and their dream marriage.

But in 2018, the cancer of Yang came back.

Xu took his fiancé to a number of big hospitals around China, with hopes of curing her disease.

The health of Yang deteriorated this year, and she was forced to be hospitalized in Dalian, their hometown.

Her health got so low, that she sustained bone fractures from sneezing alone.

On October 6, 2019, Yang got into a coma, and a week later, she was pronounced dead.

Yang said, “She couldn’t even recognize me in the end and we didn’t bid farewell.”

After Yang died, Xu found out that Yang had a dream dress saved in her online shopping cart.

Xu went to a bridal store after the death of Yang and started to organize a wedding, so he could fulfill a dream of his love.

The store owner of the bridal store was moved by the story of Xu, and the kind owner decided to give him a dress for 1 yuan, which is around .14 USD.

Xu stood in front of Yang and his family.

He said, “Although today’s wedding is late, it has realised Yang Liu’s dream. All that I can do is to fulfil your wish and letting you wear a wedding dress fulfils my wish.”

Xu broke down after the speech.
