LoC Jammu And Kashmir: Indian Army Detonates Unexploded Pakistani Mortar Shell – Full Video
A 120-mm mortar shell that was fired by Pakistani forces was detonated by the Indian Army in a village in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir on September 15, 2019.
Authorities reported that a shell landed near a house in the Balkote area of Mendhar sector during cross-border shelling on September 14, 2019.
The unexploded mortar shell was found by villagers, who then informed the Indian Army.
The Indian Army sent a bomb squad to the village and detonated the unexploded shell safely to avoid casualties.
A video of the detonation was released by the Indian Army, and it showed 2 soldiers securing the site and detonating the bomb.
Last week, the Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by targeting forward posts and villages at a number of areas in Balakot and LoC.
In 2019 alone, the Pakistani Army had already violated the ceasefire treaty over 2050 times. The violation killed 21 Indians.
Raveesh Kumar, the Ministry of External Affairs in India, said, “We have highlighted our concerns at unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistan forces, including in support of cross-border terrorist infiltration, and targeting of Indian civilians and border posts by them.”
