Tanya said the coin that she has is a small number of the year 2000 that had been minted using the incorrect observe die and it was released into circulation by mistake.

The mistake was discovered 2 years after the distribution.

Tanya said, “Royal Australian Mint accidentally minted the coins using the smaller 10 cent obverse die (head side) by mistake. With just a 1.4 millimeter difference in diameter between the 10 cents and $1 coin you can clearly see a double rim circle going around the edges of the coin.”

She added, “These errors are worth anywhere from $500 to $3,000!”

The mistake is not noticeable from far, but if you look close enough, you can see the massive difference.
