Parachuting Santa Claus Is Rescued By Authorities After Getting Tangled In Power Lines

We got Santa, I repeat, we got him.

A man that was dressed as Santa Claus was rescued by the authorities after they got entangled in power lines following a failed parachute attempt.

According to reports, the incident happened in California, USA.

The man was using a motorized personal aircraft to deliver candy to children in a suburb area of Sacramento when the aircraft crashed, said numerous reports.

Images of the incident went viral on social media right away and people were quick to come up with hilarious comments.

The California Highway Patrol’s North Sacramento division released a statement about the incident, where they said:

Turns out Santa was trying to get some last-minute fun in before the holiday and got into a hot wire situation.

The man was later helped down by the authorities.

The Sacramento Fire Department said that the man did not sustain any injuries in the horrible incident.

The authorities said that the man was flying a hyper light aircraft, they also confirmed that it was not a glider.

The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) said that the aircraft was a powered parachute.

A statement was released by the FAA about the incident.

The spokesperson of the FAA said:

A powered parachute lost power on takeoff near a school in Rio Linda, Calif., and then hit and became suspended in power lines around 11:00 a.m. local time Sunday.

Chris Vestal, a member of the fire department, also broke bad news for everyone.

Santa Claus ended up causing an electricity outage in the area.

It was reported that around 200 people lost power in the Rio Linda area.

Vestal said:

He was trying to deliver candy canes to kids that were playing through in the community. We commend him for that.
