Russian President Vladimir Putin Wants To Restore Strained Ties Between Washington And Moscow

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia said that he wants to “fully restore” the ties of Russia and the United States of America during the visit of Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State.

He also believed that the president of the USA, Donald Trump, wants to do the same thing.

The president of Russia came to the conclusion after a phone call with POTUS Donald Trump.

Speaking ahead of a meeting with Pompeo, Putin said that Russia did not interfere with the US elections.

Earlier this year, Pompeo met Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of Russia in the Black Sea resort of Sochi with the hopes of finding common ground in the strategic issues over Venezuela, Syria, Ukraine, and Iran.

At a joint conference after their meeting, Pompeo asked Russia to end their support for Nicolas Maduro, but his urge was rejected.

Pompeo said, “The time has come for Nicolas Maduro to go, he has brought nothing but misery to the Venezuelan people, and we hope that Russian support for Maduro will end.”

The United States of America and 50 countries back the opposition movement that is led by Juan Guaido, who declared himself as the interim President in January.

Sergey Lavrov said that the future of Maduro should be decided by the people of Venezuela.
