The Saharanpur Police said that a stray dog in Dayalpur Village in Saharanpur, India, stole a month-old baby and mauled him to death. Officials said that this is the second time an incident has happened this week.

Superintendent Vineet Bhatnagar said that the infant was sleeping beside his mother when the stray dog stole him and attacked him.

Officer Bhatnagar added that the incident happened on June 28, 2019, by 4 AM.

Seconds after the mother realized that her baby has been stolen, she raised an alarm but the dog managed to escape the premises of their house.

Residents of the area launched a search and rescue operation for the baby.

But when they found the baby, it was already dead.

Earlier this week, a three-month-old boy was killed in a similar way by a number of stray dogs. Officials said that the dogs dragged the infant to a field and mauled him to death.
