MrBeast and Mark Rober had a goal for this year, and that was to raise $20 million before December 30, 2019, so they can plant 20 Million Trees in their fight against global warming. Many of us considered the goal to be impossible, but damn we were wrong.

TeamTrees, a collaborative fundraiser, has raised over $20 million USD in just 55 days, and we still have 10 days for 2019 to end.

MrBeast, who is also known as Jimmy Donaldson, shared the news on Twitter.

In a tweet he made, MrBeast wrote, “We did it!!”

He added, “Thank you so much to the over 500,000 different people that donated and the hundreds of influential people that promoted the campaign! #TeamTrees was more than planting 20 million trees, it was a movement that shows we care and we want to make change.”

MrBeast and Mark Rober shared their initiative on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and almost every social media. Their plan went viral so fast that celebrities and CEO’s of huge tech companies started to donate money.

As of December 21, 2019, $20,320,846 has been donated to TeamTrees. The organizers of the initiative have announced that the fundraiser is going to be running until next year.

What Is TeamTrees?

Team Trees, which is also known as TeamTrees or #teamtrees, is a collaborative fundraiser that managed to raise over $20 Million (USD) before 2020 to plant 20 million trees in just 55 days. This entire initiative was started by MrBeast, a YouTuber, and Mark Rober.

The donations of TeamTrees are going to go to the Arbor Day Foundation, a tree-planting organization that plants 1 tree for every $1 USD that is donated to TeamTrees.

The goal of TeamTrees is to plant 20 million trees, which is going to take up 180 km of land. Those trees are going to absorb around 1.6 million tons of carbon and remove 116 thousand tons of chemical air pollution from the atmosphere.
