This 100-year-old woman celebrated her 25th birthday on February 29, 2020, because she was born on a leap day.

Doris Cleife, the 25-year-old 100-year-old woman, was born on February 29, 1920.

She celebrated her 25th birthday with her family and staff at her house in Portsmouth’s Brunel Court, an assisted living complex.

On February 29, 2020, her family surprised her with an afternoon tea along with a bunch of balloons and cake.

During an interview with BBC, Cleife said she had waited all her life to be famous.

She added, “I waited all my life to be famous and now it happens like this. To be honest, I am feeling quite philosophical about turning 100, but I am looking forward to spending time with my new friends and my family.”

Cleife moved into her independent accommodation, which is run by Housing 21, a non-profit group, in 2019.

She used to live with her daughter and son in law for the past 40 years until her daughter’s death last May.

According to reports, Cleife has 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
