Tiger Sneaks Into Family Home After Escaping Forest Hit With Heavy Floods In India

2 states in India, Assam and Bihar, are currently facing heavy floods, and part of Assam is the Kaziranga National Park, which is home to a number of healthy tigers.

More than 40 lakh residents in the 2 states have been affected due to the heavy floods, and to mention, a number of healthy Bengal tigers.

The footage of the tiger was shared on social media platforms.

A Tiger managed to sneak into a family home in Assam after the forest it lived in got hit with heavy floods.

On Thursday morning, the homeowner and his family members saw the tiger inside their house.

Officials from the Wildlife Trust India said that the female tiger was from the Kaziranga National Park.

The female tiger in the video is just one of the many animals that are heading out from the National Park after heavy floods have entered it.

Shiv Kumar, the director of the Kaziranga National Park, said, “It appears the tiger strayed into a human settlement area to escape the floods and was very tired.”

The homeowner and his family reported the incident to the local authorities.

The authorities decided to let the female tiger rest in the garage for some time.

An operation was then launched later that day so they could force her out of the house.

Officials blocked the traffic for one hour and set firecrackers to wake her up.

Reports suggest that the female tiger left the property by 5:30 pm.

The Kaziranga National Park is home to Bengal Tigers and one-horned rhinos, which are currently listed as endangered.

Animals are currently heading out from the park as some parts of the park have been affected by the flash floods.

State authorities have confirmed that the Assam Flash Floods 2019 have killed 43 animals so far.

Parimal Suklabaidya, the forest minister of Assam, said that they are currently worried about poachers in the state.

He added, “The biggest worry during the floods is from poachers who might take advantage of the rhinos moving to the hills and kill the animals for their horns.”
