Congress’s First Transgender Office bearer Apsara Reddy
Congress appoints transgender activist Apsara Reddy in the Mahila Congress as a national general secretary, this makes the 134-year-old party’s first transgender member and office bearer.

Apsara Reddy, who was a former journalist, who joined the AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) back in May 2016.
After the death of party icon Jayalalithaa in December 2016, she moved to the pro-Sasikala camp of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
