The main objective of the video was to let other people know how much force is released once an airbag goes off during a car accident, and what it could to the passenger who placed his/her feet on the dashboard.

The Narrabeen Fire and Rescue Service shared the video on their Facebook page.

The fire department said, “A friendly reminder to keep your feet off the dashboard when traveling in vehicles.”

According to the NRMA (National Roads and Motorists Association) of Australia, more than 400 people were brought to the hospital due to the injuries they attained from placing their feet on the dashboard of their car.

Once an airbag goes off, it has enough force to push your feet back into your own face, and your seatbelt can also cause a number of injuries as well.

Your lower body gets squished for a split second and your internal organs can get damaged from this.

Dr. John Crozier of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons said that a person can attain injuries such as “ruptured bowel” and a “torn aorta” from placing your feet on the dashboard.

Dr. John added that the spinal cord could also be torn apart which can cause you to become paralyzed.

He said that injuries like that can also kill you.
