Patrick Beverly Leaves $10 Million To Re-Sign With The Los Angeles Clippers
Reports suggest that Pat Beverly left more than $9 Million USD on the table in order to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Pat had an opportunity to sign with the Sacramento Kings and was offered $10 million more than what the LA Clippers offered him.
During an interview with Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times, Pat said, “My teammates brought me back of course, but it’s all the team. I got a bigger offer from Sacramento and I took $9 (million), $10 million less to come here…”
He added, “It was the right decision. Of course, the human part of you wants to take as much money as you see, but all money isn’t good money. I did what was best for me and my family and I did what was best to stay on a winning team, and I feel like I made the right decision.”
Patrick Beverly signed with the LA Clippers for three years and will be earning $40 Million.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, and the Dallas Mavericks were looking to sign the defensive point guard.
Throughout the 2018-2019 season, the point guard averaged 7.6 points, 5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
Pat is known for his unique defense where he usually gets into the minds of the players he is playing against.
