Rat Bites The Leg Of A Coma Patient, Father Of Patient Says Rodents Are Roaming Freely In Wards
Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh: A patient, who is in a coma, had his leg bitten by a rat. The 27-year-old patient is admitted to a government-run hospital in Ratlam District of Madhya Pradesh.
Suraj Singh Bhati, a 27-year-old man, sustained injuries after being involved in a motorcycle accident on the 29th of May this year, and since the accident happened, he has been in a coma.
Rajendra Singh Bhati, the father of Suraj, is taking care of him in the hospital.
The incident came to light when Rajendra saw bite marks on the ankle of his son on Monday morning.
Rajendra said he saw blood and skin all over the bed of his son when he arrived there.
When Rajendra reported the incident to the staff of the hospital, they dressed the wound and did nothing about the rat problem.
News 18 got in touch with Dr. Anand Chandelkar, a Civil Surgeon after the incident was reported.
Dr. Chandelkar said, “Due to monsoon season, the pits are filled with water and the rodents were rushing towards the hospital building.”
Rajendra, the father of the patient, said that rats are roaming in the wards of the hospital and can be seen roaming frequently.
