As a result, the villagers ended up tying him to an electricity post in the village and thrashed him for misbehaving.
The Australian man was brought to a hospital afterward.

Reports suggest that James was on a visit to Badami, a historical tourist spot in Karnataka when the incident happened.
After visiting Badami, the Williams went to Konkanakoppa.
A case against the villagers has been registered and an investigation for the incident has been launched.
