Florida Doctor Dies After Car Plunges Into Alligator-Infested Water

A doctor from Florida, USA, that dreamed of setting up her own hospital has passed away after she drove right into a canal that is infested with deadly alligators.

Dr. Nita Kunnumpurath was reportedly driving to her house in Naples, Florida, on Friday when she lost control of her vehicle.

As a result, the vehicle plunged right straight into the water.

It was reported that the doctor was heading down the long stretch of a highway that is known locally as Alligator Alley due to the fact that there are a lot of alligators living there.

A couple that was driving behind Dr. Nita witnessed the entire incident.

They also tried to save the woman, but they failed to do so.

The man managed to pull the doctor out from the water, but as he did, several alligators rushed towards him, which forced him to leave the woman and save himself.

The authorities were informed about the incident and heavy artillery was used to scare the alligators away.

They were also able to retrieve Dr Kunnumpurath’s body from the water.

The doctor that passed away was reportedly pursuing her post-graduate studies in surgery in Miami when she passed away.

She wanted to have her own hospital in Wayanad, which is located in North Kerala, India.

Thomas Kunnumpurath, the father of the doctor, migrated to the United States of America after retiring from his job in India.

Her other siblings are also in the medical field.

According to reports, the brother of this doctor is a pharmacist and the sister is a physiotherapist.

Officials said that the burial of the doctor will be held in a church in Chicago, USA, this week.
