Kaala Not Banned by Karnataka Film Chamber

After superstar Rajnikant gave a controversial statement on Cauvery situation. In which he asked Karnataka’s new Cheif Minister HD Kumaraswamy to release the share of Cauvery water for the state of Tamil. This lead to a massive protest against him and later on resulting a band on his upcoming film Kaala. However recently news came out that Karnataka Film Chamber has asked of no such things.

In a tweet, Prakash Raj wrote

What’s film #kaala got to do with Kaveri issue..?why is film fraternity targeted always..? Will Jds/congress government let fringe elements take the law into their hands …like bjp did with #Padmavat ..or ..will you step in to assure common man ..his right for choice.#justasking…

So far it is said that the Karnataka Film Chamber has not put any band on the movie. However, the distributors themselves have decided not to release the film in the state as the protest against the video has grown stronger. To keep the calm environment, they have decided to take such steps.

Prakash Raj also said who these fringe groups to decided what the rest of the Kannadigas want are? He had stated, “A statement made by actor Rajinikanth has hurt us deeply. Yes, I agree. To express our dissent, a few organizations have called for a ban on the film. Is that what we Kannadigas want? We don’t know, and we will never know. If the film is released and people decide not to see it as a mark of their protest only then will be able to gauge what people want. But these fringe elements deciding on behalf of the people will not let us know it. Who are these people to decide what most Kannadigas want or don’t want?”

It looks like the matter has escalated a lot regarding the release of the film in Karnataka and due to which the distributors decided not to screen this film.

Kaala

However, we have to wait and see if there are any solutions to the current situation which so far doesn’t look suitable for the peaceful release of the movie.
