This Actor Wants India Women’s Cricketer Smriti Mandhana To Act In His Film, How Did She React?
Smriti Mandhana, 21-year-old who made her ODI debut in 2013 and Test debut in 2014 is India’s new cricket sensation in Women’s national team. Smriti, absolutely young and an ace player has come into the world of cricket inspired by her brother and father who had played professional cricket at the district level.
Mandhana’s first breakthrough came in October 2013 when she became the first Indian woman to achieve a double-hundred in a one-day game. In the 2016 Women’s Challenger Trophy, Mandhana scored three half-centuries for India Red in as many games and helped her team win the Trophy by making an unbeaten 62 off 82 balls in the final against India Blue.
In September 2016, Mandhana was signed up for a one-year deal with Brisbane Heat for the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), and along with Harmanpreet Kaur, became one of the first two Indians to be signed up for the League. Mandhana was the only Indian player to be named in the ICC Women’s Team of the Year 2016.
Mandhana was part of the Indian team to reach the final of the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup where the team lost to England by nine runs. Recently, she scored 84 and helped India to register a fine victory against South Africa in Kimberley.
The 21-Year-Old left-handed batswoman is one of the most prolific cricketers in Women’s Cricket arena. She’s even fondly called as ‘Lady Lion’ as she has been aggressive on the field. She’s also pretty and has a huge fan base.
Amidst all the fan following, a leading South Indian actor decided to rope Smriti in as a female lead in his new project and he is making all necessary actions to cast her in. But, Smriti confessed she has no plans of entering into movies and her focus is only on Cricket.
What’s an interesting thing here is, the actor is so desperate to bring the woman cricketer in and act along with him. Earlier, the actor tried to rope in Sania Mirza and she was persistent and said a firm ‘NO’. The actor is however keen not to lose Smriti this time.
