Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal Shocks Everyone By Leaving An Easy Ball In T10 League
Pakistan’s cricket has been on the high swing since the introduction of the T10 format of cricket. This style of cricket gave the audience a rare opportunity to enjoy the gentlemen’s game in the shortest period possible. However, there were moments when it grabbed the attention more than required purely for its comic or rather awkwardness value.
We all know that unlike his younger brother Umar Akmal who gets a treatment from social media now and then, Kamran Akmal is a respected personality throughout. Though, veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal did grab eyeballs from everyone for his ‘art of leaving’ act.
Kamran plays for Maratha Arabians, he left everyone in shock including the bowler Mohammad Amir, by not attempting to stop a ball during the semifinals against Kerala Kings. Pacer Amir bowled a delivery that swung hard into Paul Stirling, who was out on off-stumps. Usually, wicketkeepers make an attempt to stop but Akmal had a different approach altogether.
We can see the expressions on Amir’s face after Akmal missed an easy one, or at least failed to try catching it.

Amir had expected Akmal to catch the ball as it wasn’t too far away, but Akmal left it as the ball raced away for a boundary. Kerala Kings successfully chased the target of 98 runs and booked a berth in the finals. Akmal had a forgettable night with the bat too, as he scored just nine runs.
