After Sehwag Winning The Twitter Banter, Ross Taylor Revealed Names Of Those Who Helped Him With “Hindi”

We all know former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor have been in humorous conversation (banter) in Hindi started during the 1st ODI between India and New Zealand, over Taylor’s name. Sehwag had started it all by focusing on Taylors’ name and its phonetic resemblance to tailor which translates to ‘Darji’.

For sure, it is not easy to get back at Sehwag over his witty one-liners that have floored most sportspersons. And Taylor wasn’t one to give up so soon. His unexpected replies not only leveled terms between the two but he surely went a notch ahead.

The Twitter banter went on throughout the tour of New Zealand to India. Both ODI and T20I series was played in great spirit on and off the field as the teams fought gamely in all the six matches. The deciders went right down the wire but India prevailed every time by keeping their nerves.

However, Sehwag didn’t miss out to tease Taylor cheekily after the close game on Tuesday in Thiruvananthapuram which India won by 6 runs.

Earlier, Taylor re-ignited the flame yet again after the visitors triumphed in the second T20I in Rajkot. He posted a picture of him sitting in front of a closed tailor shop to mock Sehwag.

Virender Sehwag is not among those cricketers who will let things go. He kept the message of  Taylor in mind and soon after India won the third T20I in Kerala reminded him of the way India defeated New Zealand.

He also praised the Kiwis for the fight they put up in last few days but not before taking a cheeky dig at the experienced Black Caps player. He tweeted, “Dhulaai Ke Baad silaai, but well played NZ.Never feel very bad losing against NZ because they are such nice guys, but a sweet victory for India.”

Signing off from India, the New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor on Wednesday shared a post on his official Instagram account with a picture, including one of his teammates and a staff member. The two in the picture played a prominent role in the Twitter banter between Taylor and Sehwag.

Taylor thanked his Indian origin staff member and teammate who helped him in the Twitter banter against Virender Sehwag in the past few days by replying to his messages in Hindi. The picture was captioned,

“As always India it was a pleasure. FYI – the two responsible for helping me with banter with @virendersehwag are here in this photo, thanks, Dev and @ic3_odi, signing off with one last message: Dhullai aur Silaai Anne waale samay mein jaari rahegi #India #indvnz #Mumbai #darji.”

Anyway, the Nawab of Najafgarh won the ultimate battle in the end and had the last laugh.
