SL Vs Ind: Twitterati Has Its Say On ‘Sri Lankan Crowd Hurling Bottles On The Players’
The fate of the Sri Lankan team is widely un-good from the very beginning of the series with India, starting with the Test series, the rivals failed to imprint their best against India.
It is Hitman Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni who saved India from ultimate decline. With a staggering 124 in 145 balls and 67 in 86 balls, both the players saved the destiny of this second ODI against Sri Lanka. The openers ultimately failed to bag even single digit runs, skipper Kohli garnered a mere 3 runs.
It appeared like an another easy-win for Team India under the presence of Dhoni and Rohit, this was not at all, it is the conduct of the Sri Lankan crowd that stained the image of both the Sri Lankan team and the situation.
After all the match appeared getting out of hands, to everyone’s surprise, the spectators took the hold of the situation, went bottling the ground, well, it is pretty clear that they’re agitated by the team’s performance. It’s very reminiscent of Cuttack in 2015 when India played South Africa.
Morally, not good business – holding the match hostage like this. The players and umpires have gathered towards the pitch, waiting for the situation to be brought under control. That’s the best they can do. Meanwhile, announcements are being made through the PA system, but it didn’t seem to be helping too much.
Post this, the players remained on the pitch, with MS Dhoni asleep, security cleared the hurls, and the match was resumed soon after with India clinching the match subsequently.

Poor scenes at Pallekela. Spectators throwing bottles onto the ground and play has been stopped due to that. India need 8 runs #SLvIND
