Rashid Khan Rips Apart The West Indian Batting Line-Up, He Went On To Take 7/18 [WATCH VIDEO]
West Indies Cricket team narrowly missed out on the opportunity to play in this year’s Champions Trophy as they couldn’t make on top 8 in the International Cricket Council’s ODI Rankings just before the tournament.
In the place of West Indies, Bangladesh made their way and doing well in the tournament so far. As they could not make to top 8 in the ICC rankings to qualify for the Champions Trophy, Carribean hosted the Asian Nation Afghanistan in a 3-match ODI series, following the win in the T20 series against them.
In the first ODI, the visiting team won the toss and elected to bat on a slow wicket. With the help of Javed Ahmadi’s 102-ball 81 runs and Gulbadin Naib’s 28-ball 41 runs, Afghanistan could score 212 in 50 overs.
While chasing the target, the host team failed to read the right-hand leggie Rashid Khan, who split the team into halves. Rashid Khan has become a sensation in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). He played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and won many hearts with his wonderful bowling skills.
Coming to this match, Rashid was called upon to bowl in the 23rd over of the innings. At 68/2, the match seemed to be going to the host side’s favor before Rashid first ball dismissed Jason Mohammed. Rashid followed his first delivery with a googly of its kind catching the incoming batsman Roston Chase flummoxed in front of the crease.

Rashid went on taking wickets as West Indies batsmen couldn’t read his bowling well. West Indies were reduced to halves for a score of 70. Rashid left the arena with figures of 7/18 which is also the best for any associate bowler in ODI history.
