Undoubtedly, her record-breaking knock of 171* runs of just 115 balls against the defending champion Aussies in the semis scripted Indian Team’s road to their second ICC Women’s World Cup final.

It is clear that India’s vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur has created quite a stir within the cricketing fraternity. Even of those who are best in the business – Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh congratulated her for her brilliant innings of a lifetime.

As per sources, it is said that Harmanpreet wears it to show solidarity with the victims of the 1984 riots. Yes, you read that right. She is pretty vocal about it and openly declares her intentions.

The 1984 anti-Sikh riots were a sad period in India’s history. It was the aftermath of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination by her Sikh bodyguards.

She also dedicates all her success to those who lost their lives in the violence.
