Everything You Need To Know About Mikhail Gandhi, The 8-Year-Old Who Played The Role Of Sachin In ‘Billion Dreams’
It has been almost two weeks, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ has marked its presence on big screens, the movie has earned decent amount as returns with fair reviews from critics. Every detail in the movie has addressed something very keen about Sachin Tendulkar. The movie has conveyed clearly about the childhood Tendulkar had. Especially, all credits to Mikhail Gandhi, the 8-Year-Old who did his best in the biopic.
One must understand that it is very difficult to find a boy with curly hair with similar looks to the childhood Sachin. Somehow, beating all the odds, the director, James Erskine has managed to discover this young boy for his “Sachin: A billion dreams”. Once Erskine had his eye set on Mikhail Gandhi, there were no further discussions as the eight-year-old was the perfect fit for the role a young Tendya.

The childhood pictures of Sachin Tendulkar already went viral on Social Media, right before its release, with curly hair being the prominent feature and Mikhail Gandhi’s curly hair is reminiscent of the one that Sachin has. The eight-year-old kid has not been a new face for the industry and audience after having already worked for the Aquaguard advertisement.
This kid already has done various commercials in Sri Lanka and neighboring country Pakistan. Alongside the commercials, he has also acted in a Telugu movie named ‘Supreme’, alongside actor Sai Dharam Teja.
But ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ is definitely a breakthrough for this kid. His journey towards stardom started when he bettered 300 kids during the auditions for the biopic. Surprisingly, sources claim that Mikhail is even unaware of the fact that he’s going to act in Sachin’s biopic.
“We got a call from a casting agent who didn’t inform us anything about the film he was supposed to audition for when we reached there, I found out he’d bagged the role for this film [Sachin: A Billion Dreams]. Almost 300 kids had auditioned for the role,” Mikhail’s mother said.
When asked about his experience of playing the role of Sachin, the kid replied: “When I saw myself on the big screen, it was the happiest day of my life so far.”
