Watch: Maxwell Tries To Mock Virat Kohli’s Shoulder Injury At The Boundary Line

Kohli, coming to bat after sustaining a shoulder injury during 1st day of play of the same match, stayed off the ground for 400 minutes but batted at his regular number four spot. He walked out to bat at the start of the afternoon session after overnight batsman Murali Vijay lost his wicket at the stroke of lunch.

Virat Kohli’s poor run with the bat in the series against Australia continued and the visitors made sure to remind him. The Indian skipper was greeted with loud cheers by the home crowd at India`s newest Test venue but could only last only for short time facing 23 deliveries.

Kohli did knock a few balls but later played down the wrong line, more disappointingly with a strong bottom hand and straighter bat to a fuller length delivery.

Soon after Steve Smith had taken the catch to send Kohli back to the dressing room, the celebration was concluded by the Aussie captain mocking his Indian counterpart’s shoulder injury by putting one hand on the shoulder. Smith’s act was copied by Glenn Maxwell too, who emulated his skipper to mock Virat.

Same dive, same attempt but different result. During Australia’s first innings, Virat Kohli attempted to stop a ball heading towards the boundary and ended up getting injured, whereas, in India’s first innings, Glenn Maxwell did something similar but ended up helping Australia get Virat Kohli’s wicket.
