India vs Australia: Virat Kohli Will Play Dharamsala Test ‘Only if 100 Percent Fit’
India skipper Virat Kohli has been the backbone of his team India through a long home season, but now his inclusion for the fourth and final Test against Australia, here tomorrow is doubtful.
Kohli had injured his shoulder during the drawn Ranchi Test last week. He did not take the field for the remainder of Australia’s first innings but came out to bat at his usual number four spot.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Virat refused to give any update on the condition of his injured shoulder, saying “(We will) take a call later tonight or tomorrow“ when questioned on his availability for the fixture.
Keeping up the suspense over his participation in the series decider, “I am not different from anyone else. There’s no special treatment for anyone. I will take the field only if I am 100 per cent fit,” Kohli said at a press briefing. “The rules apply to everyone and they are the same for everyone. There is no special treatment for anyone.“

He will undergo a fitness test on the morning of the game and the decision on his participation will be taken based on that. “If I am 100% fit for the game, it is the only condition when I will take the field. If I go through the fitness test, then I will take the field,” Kohli said.
BCCI to cover up for him called up Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer in the squad and he has joined the squad in Dharamsala today.
Kohli also told media persons that there are capable players in the side to replace him, if he’s not able to play the crucial match. Kohli also expressed confidence that his side will do well in the must-win game.
“We are the No.1 Test team in the world and we have quality players in our side who can contribute whenever an opportunity comes their way,“ said Kohli.
Before appearing at the press conference, though, Virat did take a few throwdowns at the team’s practice session. He, however, did not participate in a full-length nets batting session.

The series is tied at 1-1 with the Border-Gavaskar trophy on the line in Dharamsala.
Uncapped batsman Shreyas Iyer has been called as a standby for Virat and arrived in the Himalayan state earlier this morning. The 22-year-old was Mumbai’s highest scoring batsman in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy and smashed 202 in a first-class match for India A against Australia last month.
