The biggest employer in India is Indian Railway having 17 zones. These zones are managed by the Railway Recruitment Board. The boards recruit technical and non-technical staff through the recruitment exam as per the syllabus fixed according to the positions.  Some posts come under the Union Public Service Commission, and some posts comes under the Railway Recruitment Boards. The boards further divided into the zones. The positions are based under groups like Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D. The Ministry of Railways, Authority of India is appointing 1108 job seekers. Positions based under the groups

Group ‘A’ Posts: Group A posts is carried out by UPSC – appointed through Civil Service Exam, Engineering Service Exam, and Combined Medical Service Examination.

Group ‘B’ Posts: Group B posts are not directly recruited, actually these posts are upgraded posts from Group ‘C’ posts, and the Group ‘C’ posts are managed as follows.

Group ‘C’ Posts: Group ‘C’ posts are categorized into technical and Non-Technical staff like Assistant Station Masters, Drivers, Motormen, Guards, Signal and Mechanical Inspectors. So these staffs recruits by the railway recruitment boards. There are total 19 railway recruitment boards.

Group ‘D’ Posts: Group ‘D’ posts include porter, Gateman, parcel porter, helper, track-man, Safaiwala, Gangman, Khalasi, peon in various departments like traffic, civil engineering, mechanical, electrical and S& T. RRBs appoint group D posts through Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and written test. The basic qualification for these posts is a class 10th standard.

2. East Central Railway (ECR) – Hajipur
3. East Coast Railway (ECoR) – Bhubaneswar

5. North Central Railway (NCR) – Allahabad
6. North Eastern Railway (NER) – Gorakhpur
7. North Western Railway (NWR) –  Jaipur
8. Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) –     Guwahati
9. Northern Railway Railway (NR) – Delhi
10. South Central Railway (SCR) – Secunderabad
11. South East Central Railway (SECR) – Bilaspur
12. South Eastern Railway (SER) – Kolkata
13. South Western Railway (SWR) – Hubli

15. West Central Railway (WCR) – Jabalpur
