People that refuse to wear a face mask in Indonesia are forced to dig graves for patients that died because of the coronavirus as a punishment.
Well, this is something that is nice.
8 people in Gresik Regency, Indonesia, were made to dig graves at a public cemetery in Ngabetan village after the refused to wear face masks.
People that were punished in the incident did not participate in funeral services, however, they were made to dig graves.
Cerme district head Suyono released a statement about the incident and confirmed it.
The statement reads:
There are only three available grave diggers at the moment, so I thought I might as well put these people to work with them. Hopefully this can create a deterrent against further violations.
Coronavirus cases are continuously rising in Cerme, this is why people in the village and locality are implementing strict precautionary measures.
Residents that ignore protocols are now subjected to fines or community service as punishment by the new law.
