McDonald’s Workers Shot After Staff Told 2 Women They Could Not Eat In Their Dining Area
Oklahoma City, USA: The police have arrested 2 women after they shot at the workers of McDonald’s after staff reportedly told them that they were not allowed to eat in the dining area of the restaurant.
The incident happened at a restaurant located Southwest 89th Street and South Pennsylvania Avenue.
The 2 women reportedly became angry when the staff told them that their dining room was closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Officers reportedly told local media that one man was shot in the shoulder and a second worker got hit in the arm.
The 2 were rushed to a hospital in the area with non-life threatening injuries.
A third victim, who is a woman, sustained a head injury during the shooting.
Barry Mangold, a reporter, said:
Two McDonald’s employees shot inside store at SW 89th & Penn. Oklahoma City Police Department say two women became angry when staff told them the dining room was closed due to Covid-19. A third victim hit her head, all injuries non-life threatening. All three were taken to Oklahoma University Med.
Larry Barton, a professor of Crisis Management and Public Safety at the University of Central Florida, said:
In 30 years of studying retail and crisis situations, we have never seen a situation of customers being so rude to hourly employees. It’s demoralizing and, as we saw with the shooting of the security guard, a sometimes deadly environment.
The 2 suspects of the shooting have been arrested.
