Police Officers In Germany Are Being Attacked For Enforcing Social-Distancing Measures

Police Officers in Frankfurt, Germany, are being attacked for enforcing rules that are set out by the government to stop the coronavirus from spreading.

According to reports, gangs are attacking the police that is trying to stop crowds from gathering.

The police were reportedly attacked by men with stones and iron bars.

In a statement that was released by the police, they said that the police officer stopped their car when they saw a large group of people in the street on Friday.

As one of the police officers stepped out of the patrol car, one of the group threw a large stone at the vehicle.

The group of men then ran away.

Shortly afterward, a second police officer was attacked by around 20 people as the police got out of the police car.

The police said:

“Some of the men were armed with stones, roof tiles and iron bars and were threatening the officers.”

When the police officers chased the group, a person threw a 5-kilogram metal plate.

Luckily, no one got hit.

Because of the attack, an official investigation was launched to track down the men.

A helicopter was used in the search, which led the police to track down and arrest 6 men that are suspected to be involved in the attack.

The police confiscated a number of weapons at the flat, which includes samurai swords and deadly knives.
