Friends Cast Will Reunite To Film Reunion Special In August This Year
Friends, which is arguably the best sitcom that we have ever seen, and its cast will be reuniting to film a reunion special in August this year.
Ah, I wish they remove Janice this time.
The TV special, which was supposed to arrive on May 27, 2020, has been pushed back by 3 months due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry, the 6 stars of the show, announced the news in February this year.
They will be reuniting exclusively for an untitled, unscripted special for HBO Max.
The amazing news came moths after the iconic sitcom’s 25th anniversary.
Marta Kauffman, the co-creator of the show, said:
We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open. If everything is in place and we understand all the protocols and we can still make a good show, we’ll be shooting it some time, mid-to-late August.
Kevin Reilly, the Chief Content Officer of HBO Max, and the president of TNT, truTV, and TBS, released a statement about the amazing news, where he said:
Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together – we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library. I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation. It taps into an era when friends – and audiences – gathered together in real time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry are expected to get anywhere around 3 to 4 million USD for their appearance on the special reunion.
Could I be any more excited?
