Sony CEO Confirms “Door Is Closed” On Spider-Man Returning To MCU

Sony has confirmed that the door is closed on Spider-Man returning to MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).

The announced comes amidst the ongoing feud Disney.

Tony Vinciquerra, the CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, said that the talks have been stopped to bring back Spider-Man to MCU.

Tony also confirmed that they are currently working on TV spin-offs for Spiderman.

During an interview, Tony said, “We had a great run with [Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios] on Spider-Man movies. We tried to see if there’s a way to work it out… the Marvel people are terrific people, we have great respect for them, but on the other hand we have some pretty terrific people of our own. Kevin didn’t do all the work.”

Tony said a sequel to Venom and a solo movie for Spider-Man villain Morbius is in the works.

Sony said they are also keen to make 5 or 6 TV shows in the character’s universe.

On the other hand, Disney has a massive line-up of Marvel movies.

Here is the massive line-up:

  • “Black Widow”
  • “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”
  • “The Eternals”
  • “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”
  • “WandaVision”
  • “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”
  • “Loki”
  • “What if…?”
  • “Hawkeye”
  • “Thor: Love and Thunder”
  • “Ms Marvel”
  • “Moon Knight”
  • “She-Hulk”
  • “Black Panther II”
  • “Blade”
