Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update to Soon Roll Out for Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone makers has revealed that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be soon rolled out to a slew of selected Xiaomi handsets that include Xiaomi Mi 4, Mi 3 and Mi Note. According to a new GizmoChina report, the Marshmallow update is in its final testing stages and will roll out soon to its Xiaomi devices. The news got revealed by the MIUI operations manager of Xiaomi that the update is in its final stages.

The report also added that the company will release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a new version of MIUI 7, which was earlier based on an older Android iteration. Most of the Xiaomi adorers were disappointed earlier when the Chinese company unveiled the MIUI 7 ROM which was totally based on 5.1 Lollipop. Instead of Lollipop, most of the devices would be stuck on Android 4.4 version.

At that time, the company had said its users not to be worried about the Android version and they claimed that the features of the MIUI 7 would be the same on all Android devices, pointed out Gizmo China. Beggining this month, the company has released a teaser of Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone on its Weibo account that comes with 3D touch technology

Xiaomi To Roll Out Marshmallow Update for its Devices

Earlier this month, a report has been revealed that the MIUI Operations Manager had shared a small post on the company’s official website, Weibo stating the latest Xiaomi Mi 4 and Mi Note handsets will be the first devices in its line-up to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Already, a user has shared a screenshot on Weibo showing the MIUI 5.12.24 update based on 6.0 Marshmallow instead of MIUI 7.

Xiaomi Devices to get Android Marshmallow Update

For people who are unaware, the MIUI 7 comes with a slew of features that include four built-in themes, a daily lock screen that changes its wallpaper every day. It also comes with a new mode that provides a user the option to lock down apps they don’t wish their kids to access. The latest update comes with some more improvements and the company touts that MIUI 7 offers up to 30 percent better response time than its previous version MIUI 6.

The MIUI Operations manager also explained that users would be getting the latest version of Android (Marshmallow 6.0) very soon and that company has already rolled out the software to its closed beta testers community. We can expect a developer version and a couple of months later, the company might roll out a stable version of Android Marshmallow.
