Gionee, the Chinese smartphone manufacturing company has launched a new smartphone namely Gionee Marathon M5 Lite in China. The handset is listed on the company’s shopping website. Earlier, the Chinese makers had launched a smartphone under the Marathon series namely Gionee Marathon M5 with a whopping 6020mAh battery launched in China. The Chinese firm has not yet revealed the details regarding the price and availability of the smartphone. There is no word whether the new P5W will hit Indian shores or at what price range.

Earlier this month, the Gionee has introduced a new device called Gionee P5W and the company is likely to launch the smartphone in India soon. Like its predecessor handsets, the new Gionee Marathon M5 Lite comes with a massive battery capacity which has an ability to charge other smartphones as well. Display: The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 293 ppi.

Dimensions: The handset measures 143 x 69.9 x 8.5mm and weighs 182 grams.

Processor: The handset is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor.

Operating System: The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system on top of Amigo 3.0.

RAM: The smartphone comes with 1GB RAM and Mali-T720 GPU.

Storage: Gionee Marathon M5 Lite includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Camera: The device comes equipped with an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with CMOS sensor and LED-flash. The smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel front camera.

The new Gionee Marathon M5 Lite is launched in India at an affordable price of CNY 999 (approxiamtely Rs. 10,000). The company is also planning to launch a bumped-up version, Gionee Marathon M5 Plus in China on December 21. According to a Weibo post, the company has announced a launch event on December 21 in China where it will take wraps off the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus.

The company has not yet revealed the details regarding the price and specifications of Gionee Marathon M5 Plus. As it is a ‘Plus’ variant of the Gionee Marathon M5, one can expect a gigantic battery along with a feasible larger display screen.
